I will not mention the sailor's name, but he wanted out of the Navy. Tarawa was recently commissioned, and we were out at sea running various tests on her. CIC, Combat Information Center, was crowded with everyone at their duty stations. All of the sudden, I heard screaming inside CIC. I ran in there, and found the sailor threatening a lieutenant commander. The sailor's eyes were red, huge, and dilated. They were able to calm the sailor down. A MAA came in and took the sailor to the ship's hospital or brig. I am not sure what happened to the sailor. I believe he was under the influence of a drug, but maybe he just had a terrible panic attack.

His problem was the fact he was EX-ARMY. Knew him from "A" school . (same class)  P.S. I was sitting " surface ops " at the time.

Yep Roy, once your mind is destroyed by the Army, there is nothing the sea services, Navy or Marines that can fix it.

Hey Rick, when I was on board there was a "frocked chief" Signal man that came up positive on a urinalysis . When all was said and done he was a E-1 with 18 yrs. and kicked out of the service. For Keith, when I told my Dad I wanted to join the military, the 1st words out of his mouth were "you're NOT joining the Army". I was the 1st to go Navy while all of my other relatives went Army.

My dad was a career Army man.

While many have positive things to say about the Army, I question any service that uses the slogan "....of one". I'm sorry but we would agree its all about teamwork.

My "green" team wasn't bad, either.
