So Turner's Outdoors has this weapon on sale.  Anyone familiar with it?  Good? Bad? Slightly better than a pop-gun?  I want an AR weapon, but I don't want to spend a fortune on one.  I don't want to use this as a long distance weapon, I have another platform for that [smile]

I have a Bushmaster Carbine.  Not this exact model, mine came with a variable power scope but still the 16" barrel.  I love it.  It shoots great, well made and has never given me problems.

I took it to Montana the week before memorial day to go shooting with my son.  My range is a 25 yd indoor, his is up to 400 yd outdoor. So I wanted to shoot it at 100 yds.  Once I determined where I was shooting, adjusting was simple and pointed out that my bi-pod is crap.  Other than that, accurate as hell.

Steve, there is a firearms sale here at the MCX starting Wednesday through the weekend. As you know at the MCX there is no sales tax and the dros is $25.00

Also Saturday, Jo and I are planning on doing the 22 fun shoot at the range. Since we now have a 22 pistol, a Walther P22, plus several 22 rifles, we should have a good time. We are hoping on having a couple of friends join us as well.

On the docket for Wednesday's sale is a S&W M&P Bodyguard revolver in .38 special with crimson trace.

Don't know if your near a Cabela's, or would want to order it online - between the 9th and 19th they have a sale on an S&W M&P15 for $600.

I saw a lot of good reviews on this rifle, it was one of 3 under consideration when I bought mine.

Gunny, I was thinking about the 22 Fun Day last night.  Maybe if we can unload some of the things we have planned, Cris and I will try to make the trip up there, guns and ammo in tow [smile]  Glad you got the Walther, it is such a fun gun to shoot.  She loved it until she fell in love with my Kimber with the .22 conversion.  I'm terrified I may lose it to her [frown]

Leo, I've looked a the M&P.  Gunny has one and loves his.  The one at Turner's comes with a Red Dot sight, so that got my interest, along with the sale price.  Cabela's isn't near me so I would have to FFL it, which will wind up costing the same if not more than getting the Bushmaster. But thanks for the lead! [smile]

So, I did it.  I went and bought the Bushmaster.  Pick it up on the 28th.  I can't wait!  Can't wait to get it to the range and punch holes in the paper [smile]

There is a smart phone app called AmmoSeek.  Works well if your looking to buy and can have it shipped in. I'm reloading mine, so all I need to find is powder, bullets and primers.  Which all seem to be available now.

Cabella's always has bulk ammo on sale.

Awesome.  I need to take a trip to the range and check out their bulk prices.  Probably a bit higher than mail order.

Picked up the Bushmaster this evening.  Holy batcrap!  That thing is going to be a pain to take apart and clean.  I think it will be a while before I get to shoot it. [frown]

Not really, two pins and you separate the upper from the lower.  The bolt then comes out and your ready to clean.  My pins were tight, but once I got it apart the first time, the next time was easy.

If I have time tomorrow, I will break it down and clean it.  I need to clean the Kimbers and the Walther.  Took both to the range today to do some fine tuning to the sights and they both started to misfeed.  Not good.  The wife is going to Henderson for a month, so her Walther need to get a good cleaning so it is ready, just in case.
