only for criminals..

i will stick with my belief that if you have a cwp that you should be allowed to carry anywhere...    i would love to know if any of the shooters had a cwp.

what i do believe is ---- it is to easy for anyone to get their hands on a gun..    lets cut to the chase.....    people own guns, and want access to them if (a bad guy) comes into their house at night..   so MOST guns are not locked up....

charge the registered gun owner with the crime , or at least an accessory to the crime,  if his /her gun is used in a gun related shooting.

the goverment  is not going to take your gun out of your house ... but your child might !!!!!!!..

gun free zones only make those oposed to guns feel safer.       now on the other hand , i have a cwp , i can carry in 27 states, ex military, ex armed security officer,  no history of mental illnes, no criminal record ,     and im not crazy .....         but tomororw i might be really pissed off.....     feel better  ??

Rethinking implies a brain.

are we at a point where metal detectors might be needed,    or do we simply hope the ability to shoot back might be enough????

Maybe all theaters should have armed security officers like planes have Air Marshals.

that would be one suggestion but inside every theatre, we have 16 screens ... 16 guards???....        seems like unfortunatly , metal detectors are the only thing going to stop this.... most gunmen , plan on death by cop, or suicide anyhow....   fear of someone in the theatre shooting at them i dont believe is a concern they have ....

The Aurora Theater shooter didn't bring his guns in through the lobby.  He used an emergency door.  He opened it from inside, blocked it from closing and armed himself in the lot, then went back in and committed murder.

Wouldn't have made any difference if they had a sign on the door saying "Gun free zone" or a metal detector in the lobby.

A guard or security person in the theater could have ensured the door was closed after he went out.  But, the ordinance he had, he could have shot through the door until it opened and then anyone close.

If there had been a trained, armed citizen in the theater, maybe they could have shot him and saved Colorado the expense of the trial and what ever his punishment is.
