I wonder how many model kits are still out there? Show us a picture of your Tarawa! I got mine in 1980.

A hobby shop in Canada on eBay is selling one. [thumb] I just bought it. Okay, I paid a little more than what I paid in 1980, ha. I am curious how it will look after ALL the years of sitting in the box? I wonder if all the pieces are there? Stay tuned, I will give you an update when I get it. [mad] I may have been ripped-off.

Here it is. The one I purchased in 1980 had a drawing of the ship. This is an actual picture of Tarawa.

I did not get ripped off. It is in excellent condition. [redface] I feel badly that I said I may have been ripped off.

I did put one together in 1980. The one in the beginning of the thread is still in the box. I don't think I will it open it.

I saw the pro model you are talking about. It looked great, but the price was high. I don't remember how much.

just looked the pro built model is selling on ebay for 199.00   , would go for it , if the models were larger. i had one in 86 and put most of it together in the en shop. dont quite remember whwhat i did with it or even if i finished it. but it wasnt as large as i thought it would be . they seem rather small...
