On Monday, Apple released the first beta of iOS 7.1, which gives us an initial look into Apple's anticipated looming update for its mobile operating system.

The beta comes just days after the release of iOS 7.0.4.

In addition to an array of bug fixes, iOS 7.1 points to a number of known issues. They include:

  • Bluetooth (Known Issue) 32-bit apps running on a 64-bit device cannot attach to BTServer.
  • iTunes (Known Issue) Loading an iTunes Match library (or your purchased music history) may take much longer than expected, especially on larger libraries. If your library does not sync right away, please wait 30 minutes and try to access it again.
  • Crash Logs (Known Issue) Crash logs will not appear in Diagnostics & Usage Data in Settings. The logs will still be available when synced off the device.

iOS 7.1 beta is available now for beta testers.

Hey David, if you can wait until October, Apple will be coming out with the new iPhone(s). I have read on the Internet rumors Apple will be increasing the screen size(s) on the new iPhone(s). I am excited about that, because I do a lot of my posts on our forum talking into my iPhone. It does not have a large screen compared to other android phones. So, a larger screen would help me read the forum threads easier. IT is working on being able to upload pictures from smartphones. To me, it's taking them a long time to get it done, but when they complete the task, it will be nice for those who use their larger cell phones as a computer to access the Internet.

If you do not want to wait for the new Apple released in October, I would suggest the iPhone 5S first, then the iPhone 5. Make sure you get a big data plan from your cellphone carrier.

I would go with the iPad Air ~$499 or the iPad Mini with retina display ~$399, WI-FI only.

If you want more detailed information, I'll be more than happy to call you.

I am so looking forward to seeing and all my old and new shipmate friends I am meeting on our forum. WHAT! Only FIVE MORE MONTHS - March, April, May, June, and July - FIVE more months!

VERY IMPORTANT! Don't forget to send your money in before March 31, 2014 to be entered in the FREE ROOM CONTEST. The good news is, there are only a few shipmates who have! So, you have a great chance to win it!
