No, I did not get a new gun. Can you share what you got, Charlie?

I backordered a Walther P22 for the wife  [smile]  But I get to play with it, so does that count?  What did you get?

Mp shield in 40sw. Even if the wife gets a gun and let's you use it that counts.

Just picked up a Ruger LCP9s for the wife's birthday.

She tried a few 380's and 9's and liked this one the best. Light, fits her hand and it's the striker version with a lighter trigger pull.

While I was waiting for the Background check, I was talking to the store owner (slow day - it was him and me for almost an hour) about new guns, looked at a 1 of 250 Remington 1911 R1 with laser etched wood grips and, no other way to describe it, gold pin striping on a glossy black finish.  $840.

He also had a new Ruger 10/22 based handgun, kinda cool.  About 12" to 18" long.

He also sells Jimenez handguns out of Las Vegas.  They are cheap but they've caught my attention.  I picked up a JA 380 for $110 to evaluate their lineup.  They have a larger frame 380 and 9 with adjustable rear sights for about $200.

Speaking of Las Vegas - Rock Island Arms has built a gun assembly plant in Parump.  Maybe for the next reunion we could arrange a tour of one or both gun plants...

watch the slide on the ja 380, if you get your hand too high up on the grip, it will remove some meat ... i have the ja 380 and will round the bottom edges of the slide one of these day...

I've read that in a couple of places.  How do you like yours?

i do not like the clip release.   seems to shoot ok. what i think i need to do is spend alot more time behind the trigger and more time handling.   i prefere my s&w 3914.  thik the smaller you go the more unstable the gun feels....   let me know what you think, when you put some rounds through it.   If i had to buy it again i probably wouldnt. i got mine for 100...    bought it off a budy who needed the money more than the gun..

Just got back from the range with the JA 380.

I really like the way it shoots.  The recoil is less than other 380's I've shot and at 20' I put 90 rounds out of a 100 on target (helps having a new backer board to shoot at!).

The trigger pull is a bit high, time to pull out the file.  I could see carrying this.  Small, light, manageable recoil and accurate.

I think I'll pick up one of the larger frame 9's next.

David, that is really a sweet gun. You have the perfect area to shoot it, your backyard.
