Skin the fish and the snake. They both are good eatin'. Rick, when bad times come we have to be able to eat anything from plant to animal. When you go into jungle survival and escape and evasion training for 4-8 days you soon learn to eat anythinhg you catch, that is if you want to live.

Bugs, snakes, etc are all fair game for your meals and you learn how to purify urine for drinking water. Can survive for a long time that way. Do we have any takers!!!!!!!!!!

Keith, when we were in the Navy, we were taught when bad times come we have to go down to the chow hall and get a snack if they were closed. I learned to get between four and six cookies and a couple of small containers of milk, go to my rack, open my book I was reading, and get rid of the hungry pains until the chow hall opened.

I think I would want Keith, David, Byran, and Byran's wife on my jungle survival team. She looks like a great angler. I'll look for firewood. I don't want to have to clean the fish. I may get a little dizzy!

I think we would make a great team together!

Byran, are you good at target shooting? If so, check out the shooting contest we are hopefully going to have at the reunion. The information is in this forum. Keith is the Marine in charge of judging the contest. I will start to get ready for it after the holidays. And yes, Keith is going to be in the contest, too. David McNair is another judge. He will be in the contest, too. I don't know if there will be a third judge or not. Keith has not said anything yet about the judges and rules.

Rick I got your back, I went thru a survival class in the Philipines, it was called Jest, Jungle eviormental survival training , what a trip and learning experiance, ever since this training I have respect for deadly snakes, like a bamboo Viper, a king Cobra , that I ran into in the Philipines, at this point I said any dangerous snake that crosses my path he will be dead, I can handle snakes pick them up and play with them, but its the un- supected one that sees you before you see them that scares the , you know out of me. As I said to Keith I would do anything I could to survive, eat snakes , bug, and purified urine, may sound gross but it will keep you alive, snake meat is good I have eattin it, a first aid kit, a hatchet, a big knife and a gun I can feel secure anywhere , and food would be whatever is available, Keith is the expert and if we were lost somewhere I sure hope he was lost with us, sorry Keith for wanting you lost with us ha

Try going to JEST after drinking a bottle of Tequila the night before in Olongapo.

Rather be lost today with GPS and today's technology anywhere, rather than back in my day without a map or compass.

Sounds like you're sandbagging like Top Gun 2014 Steve did. When The Gunny announced his score at the cocktail party, he acted surprised, ha.

I was!!  I couldn't believe I did that good, especially with a gun I never fired before.  AND I haven't fired a gun in a very long time.
