Tarawa's Top Gun Marksmanship Competition

I wonder if there would be any interest in a Tarawa marksmanship competition at a shooting range in Las Vegas during our reunion? How cool would that be! Would we use either rifles or pistols? We could give a metal to Tarawa's Top Gun.

I would expect all of the Marines to finish in front of all the Sailors.

Just as I expected, you let the cat out of the bag. Since I know now, I have plenty of time to practice. I am guessing that Charlie and David and I will round out the top 3. HaHaHaHa.

What about the other Marines that sign up to complete in Tarawa's Top Gun? Are you saying David and Charlie will score better then them?

Why are you selling your fellow Marines short?

Not selling anyone short. If more Marines sign on and show up, then we could have a real turkey shoot.

Hey Keith, Steve Stanfill knows the Las Vegas area and the gun stores/shooting ranges. I asked him if he would recommend a place to hold TARAWA's Top Gun. Let's see if he has any suggestions.

we could hold it in the bowling alley, of course after our bowling competion, ha ha ha there I go again, honestly a friendly competion Marines , Sailors or just call us Veterans, I have many Rifles but honestly I am better with handguns and Shotguns, but to me I will shoot anything. Win or lose it will be a blast , no pun intended. We gun owners know its a good day if we shoot, and this is what its all about

In the grand scheme of things, there will be no winners, as we came to enjoy the comradeship of other veterans, it will not matter our branch of service Navy or Marine, we shared an experience on the Tarawa and that will be the goal, to expand our circle of shipmates and friends.

Keith couldnt of said it better we are all in the same service now, civilian service , sure we are proud of our branch of service but as the Navy saying goes , we are on the same boat now, all fun now, no saying the Navy is better then the Marines or vice versa, we are one now which is Veterans of the service we served well , and very lucky we are all here today to share our brotherhood, we all have our game maybe that we are better at then the next person this is what makes unique , so lets all suck it up and have fun on whatever sport or competion we do, hey how about a basket weaving class? Ok I will stop, just want to lighten ya all up , by the way I do shoot alot and I am not that good I just have fun and make sure I am safe
