It was suggested having two shooting tournaments, one for pistol and one for rife. Would that be too much?

If we have a lot of shooters maybe some may want to shoot rifles and some may want pistols have it at same time that way we will have more winners if they are at the same time, at different locations.

I'd go for both, personally.  I'm tinkering with my Remington 40X .22LR and I'd be willing to let it be used for rifle targeting.  Probably be easier if the range provided rifles.  I know of 2 ranges that will.  Gunny is working with one of them.  I'm heading to Vegas the week of the 19th of June and will go check out 2 local ranges, one of them specializes in 40, 50, and 100 yard .22LR and they provide the rifles.

The cost to have two buses run two trips would break our little bank. What makes our military reunions so nice is the extremely low cost per person. I did get a chuckle a few times when someone said our reunions are too expensive.

Well, the one range Gunny is in contact with offers both.  Why not make it a day?  John Mull's Road Kill Grill is at that location and they have been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.  Cris and I will be checking it out when we are up there in 2 weeks.  Maybe do some shooting if we can squeeze it in.  We have a lot on our POD.

So, 1 bus, 1 trip, 2 shooting formats. Worth thinking about.

Ray, are there hunting clubs there? I joined a deer hunting club here to use their outdoor shooting range.

I've only practiced twice. I'm not going to be very much of a challenger, that's for sure.

Nope, twice a month is more like it.  The wife and I go every other Friday because I have it off and there is no one at the range Friday mornings  [smile]

Speaking of ranges, I'm heading to Vegas tomorrow morning (7/18) and I will be checking out 2 ranges, Green Valley Shooting Range, an indoor range, and then the Clark County Shooting Complex, a massive outdoor range.  I will post info and pics later in the week.
