9th Circuit Court denies Peruta Appeal.

Guess we can use Self Defense now as a reason in California.

Yes and San Diego County Sheriff has just stated that he will not continue to fight the courts.

How about we try something, Steve? You file in San Deigo County and I will file in San Bernardino County on the same day and see who gets their CCW first. You up for it.

The SD County Sheriff's website still has the old information on it, but did point out "In light of recent action taken by the Federal Court, additional information will be posted here soon regarding the process to apply for CCW permits."

It will be interesting to see what they post and when.

Yo, Steve, are you going to take me up on the CCW challenge? You in San Deigo County and me in San Bernardino County. We file on the same date and see who gets their CCW first. So what say you Steve?

You've had yours for a long time. Since Steve didn't have his Ca CCW nor I, Ithought it would be fun to see which county was faster. I haven't heard from Steve yet.

I'm waiting for the Sheriff to update their website.  Right now, it is still posted with the old rules.  Stay tuned, Gunny  [smile]

One of the podcasts I listen to when I swim deals with concealed carry. The host is from California. He has noted the California sheriff departments' websites have not updated their CCW information for months. You may be waiting a little while for your update on your particular website to happen.

Some of the sheriffs out here are elected by really liberal constituents and they have to pander to them to stay in office.

So are you saying Steve, I have to wait? How about this - I start the process here in San Bernardino County and record the time between steps until I get my permit, then when San Diego County opens and starts issuing permit, you start and track the time from start to finish. We then determine the winner based on time and cost. What do you say Steve.

I need to run it by Legal first.  I have no idea if there will be any ramifications with it and my security clearance from the government.  Best to check it out beforehand than get denied a clearance and lose my job later.

Understand, however, I would ask them why if having a concealed carry permit would effect a security clearance as the are ruling that denying concealed carry permits are unconstitutional.

Well, you never know.  I can get a prescription for medical marijuana in California, but I will be immediately fired for it by the Government......

Still nothing in the state about the CCW.  They are accepting applications but no news on the final ruling.

Meanwhile, in San Diego, did anyone hear about our local Channel 8 News Sports Director being shot 10 times in his driveway?  They are bringing him out of his medically induced coma tomorrow.  Imagine being shot in the leg and side 10 times.  And surviving.  They haven't said how much damage was done.
