so heres the story ,  i have a sc ccw (no good anymore because i moved to oregon)  But i have submitted a nevada and utah out of state packets.

i went into the oregon cop shop, and  they do not accept current cards from other states, or even instructor stamps or signatures for proof of "safe gun handling -gun safety course)

But they do accept a certificate of completion of a course by a nra instructor.

any one know a nrs instructor in oregon???

guess i would like to stream line the process ,, i have or will have gone through 2 classes and held 3 permits...   and never been given a certificate of completion"

i really do not want to sit throught another class ...... seems as if i can or will be able to carry in something like 23 states , i shuldnt haft to..

You might contact Freedom First Firearms Academy LLC. The NRA instructor is Lisanne Dickenson
541-998-3359 (office) 541-501-1617 (cell)

Not endorsing this outfit, per se, but she taught my wife's class. She might be able to help you out.

While I am no expert in these matters like Danny, but many states, not California, accept your military firearms training. California, no mstter, you sit through the class.

thanks, i re contacted my las vegas instructor and althought a cert isnt usually part of the course , i think he is making one.....     as for milllitary gun training, back in 1987 we qualified in the navy with a pistol. but i do not know, of any type of documentation that went with it, and being so long ago , im not sure if it would matter

Your qual record would be in a copy of your military records as well as an entry on your DD-214. That based on the ribbon awarded and it would show on your final discharge. Keep us posted.

actually pretty simple.         (this is a resident ccw)

had to show proof of a handgun safety course taught by a cert (N R A ) instructor .

over 21

no wants /warents/ conv etc......

they actually printed and handed me my card in office .........

oregon /utah /and nv  give me 39 states....

I currently have Ariz as a non-resident. A copy of my DD-214 covered my firearms training requirement. Don't have the state count, however, withte exception of California, it covers most places I travel.

think i am covered in 32 or 34 states.....     impossable to get them all, sc requires you to own property and be a resident.......   a few others are the same way....  oregon doesnt accept any other states .....    maybe one day we can get a federal , but im not counting on it.

Federal, Federal, Federal? For some reason I don't trust our Federal government to get it right. I just think they would like to take our Second Amendment rights away. But then again, how would you like to live in California? Talk about a screwed-up state.

Be nice Rick, the guys scoring your targets all live in California. Thats Charlie, David and myself. So regardless of how screwed up California may be, we are the only ones that can work on fixing it.

I hear you, Keith. The three of you can start by removing all the socialists working for the Federal government in Washington D.C.

Hey!  Don't forget about me!!  I learned a valuable lesson the other day when I went to try to pick up a (top secret for now) at a FFL and was told "It don't matter.  Welcome to California. You will wait the waiting period. Period."
