Big John thinks the Glock 43 are for lazy people. I am thinking about getting one. Big John is Hickcock's boy!

Rick, like I said before, it is all a matter or personal preference. I'm positive the Glock 43 is a very fine gun.  If it felt right to me and I had one/or fired one, I'd insist you get it  But I'm a 1911 kinda guy.  Go try it.  If it feels right, get it.

Steve, do conceal carry a 1911? Aren't they big?

California is classified as a No Weapons state.  You can't buy the good firearms, you can't open carry firearms, you can't conceal carry firearms.  But they do have the mini 1911s designed for concealed carry.  Kimber makes a fine line of 1911 concealed carry handguns  [smile]

Does anyone that lives in CA have a CCW permit or know the main county sheriff that can sign off?
