I would like to purchase a gun safe I can bolt to my cement floor in my basement. I don't know which brand to get. Can anyone offer me some suggestions? I don't have an arsenal. I do not have a rifle.

Think it this way you do not have any rifles yet. If you know that you will never buy one then look for a small gun safe. But the larger one you can store ammo and pistols with the shelf unit. I got mine on Amazon shipped for free and the guy that delivered it help me put in the house. And it bolts down or it can be bolted to a wall.

I have several Stack-on units from Amazon as well. They are nice safes and depending on the model, they can be highly configurable.

Just a note for thought, if you make enough purchases a year, then a prime account gives you free shipping. So when you consider ordering a safe you can save a few dollars.

As was stated, if a rifle may be in your future, I would go with a full size safe, however, in the meanwhile you can use it to store your ammo and pistols.

Keith, can someone break in your home and carry your safes away? Are they bolted into cement?

I have 2 cheap Stack-On's that I bought locally. Not the nice ones Charlie has.

Mine are attached to the basement walls using 2" ramset nails.  They can't be pried off the wall.  You would need to get inside each one and remove each nail, and there are 6 nails in each.

They are located in a section of the basement that when finished, will be behind a solid door (not a hollow core) with a combo lock.  The one frame wall has 2x4's on 8" centers (to reduce the ease of going through the wall) and the door will be hidden behind a movable bookcase.

If you don't know it's there, you won't be able to tell.  If you know it's there you sill need to know how to move the bookcase, the combo to the door and the keys for the safes.

My one issue is a Chainsaw to open the wall.  I'm thinking of adding rebar to the studs...  Maybe it's overkill.

They are not in cement, however, they won't move because of their mounting method. Leo's method sounds great, however, it sounds like hed is planning on hiding a body in the "safe" room.

I figure the safest place for my guns, ammo and reloading supplies is a locked room no one knows is there.

I have a Stack-On 18 Configurable.  I have half set up for long guns and the other half for shelves for pistols and targets.  It will withstand Zero Manseconds of manipulation but it does meet the California Stupid Gun Law Rules.

Once I relocate to NV, I will get a "real" safe, bolted down to the floor and the wall.  In the nightstand will be a quick access handgun safe.

Zombies get headshots, Zombie Babes get the spare bedroom  [smile]  LOL

Are you sure you would know what to do, especially if you had two Zombie Babes in the next room.

A walking zombie would be a good target. Maybe, we can open up a zombie gun range. We would have to hire several employees to bring back live, I mean sort of a live zombies to use in the range. It would be messy cleaning up the range each night!

That's an interesting idea. If we did Marines vs. Sailors, the sailors would get killed. I could see Keith sitting high up somewhere sniping down on us, hee, hee.

My son and I were heavily into Paintball back in the day.  I still have my gear.  I used an Autococker.  I have 2 scuba tanks and the fill device.  Ahhhh  great memories until I slipped and fell breaking my tailbone.
