How often should a person clean guns he has not shot for over 6+ months? I keep thinking rust is attacking my guns while they sit in their cases in a safe.

Do it as much as you want to, but no longer than 500 rounds.  Take care of your bore and make sure you use a copper cleaner.  If you see blue at the end of your barrel, especially in a muzzle break, you got some copper fouling and its time to give it a good cleaning.  Make sure you read the directions on the copper cleaner.  That stuff is caustic and will damage stuff, including your nose!!

Thanks. Good information that I did not know.

Two of the powders I reaload with have an additive to help reduce copper fowling. I just read an article in Guns and Ammo about a company that is making shell casings out of pollomer. Cupple that with the pollomer bullets that came out a couple of years ago and you can forget about copper fowling in the barrel.

Good info, Leo!  I'm not ready to do the reloading thing yet, maybe when I retire in 3 years and move to Nevada.  😉

You don’t have to reload to get these, they are moving to sell them retail. You may have to search to find them.
