I heard one rumor about it. Could this be true? I know Apple now can build iPhones that can make telephone calls to other phones without using the present day method to send the voice. Have they now been able to remove the Internet?

well, calling one phone to another without a (switch) is like a walki talki ,   the advantage of the internet , is it uses a dns (directory name server) that gives you the address or "phone number" of another computer...    if you remove the dns, or the web, then you would need to have the "phone number of every computer you wanted to reach stored locally , just like your contact lists....   but if you diddnt have the number , you couldnt call.....    apple might store these numbers (ip addresse) but then you would need t access there directory ......  sounds lie apple is trying to build there own internet, and not call it the internet...

I think I read somewhere that was Jobs original intention when creating the first iPhone, to circumnavigate all telephone companies and use their own free network.
