"Like" a Post / User Reputation

This feature has been an enormous success on other forums. Users seem to love to be able to respond to a post with a quick Like or Dislike. Also, seeing people liking their post seems to encourage users to post even more. Should I implement this feature? I am concerned that a user could click dislike on a particular member's posts, if they are upset with them.

Just have a "Like" option and leave out the "Dislike"

We implemented  a "Thanks" button in my forums for that quick reply.

The "Thanks" replies display like this on those specific posts.

A "like" button on posts, I think might be a good thing. I say that because a person may like a post, but may not have a comment to make. For example, if there is a thread started about IPhones, a comment migh be made that a member thought was well done and added to the thread, butfor any number of reasons is unable to add to the thread in a positive way, should be able to show their interaction in the forum by adding the "like" button.

Overall, I believe, it would show that comments are being read and acted on.
