Those of us on the '79 cruise remember with fondness the joy of ensuring that crossing the Equator was properly conducted.

As I remember the Capt was a wog until properly instructed.

The tradition we remember of becoming Shellbacks has gone the way of the Dodo. It is now considered hazing.

Where have the good ole days gone?

tradition is slipping away day by day, and the going from wog to trusty shellback has gone away, this really pisses me off, the Navy has gone way to sensitive because of changing times, what will traditions be lets say 25 years down the road? Probably wont have any left, I am glad I served when I did and not now
