Guys, I picked up my latest Remington 40XB the other day.  The FFL I got it from is a retired Navy guy, Navy Rifle Team, President of a Rifle Club, etc., etc.  He does business as an FFL to and from Internet and private sales.  While he was processing my pick up, I noticed an ad hanging above his counter for 3 rifles. All are match type/caliber (.308/7.76NATO).  I loved the pictures. 2 are modern firearms. but 1.  That single rifle as a custom match-grade M1A rifle, built by some guy that is apparently big in the match world.  They were asking $1,500 for it.  I've asked for more information about it.  But my question to you is....... If this is in fact a custom match built M1A, which in the pictures appears to be in pristine condition, is it worth $1,500?  I do want a match rifle in 7.76, and with iron sights (which this ONLY comes with) to do Palma matches with.....  is it a good deal?  I've asked for more info and if I get some pics, I will post them.  Looking for input from you professional shooters.
Thanks!

Without the specs, there is now way to tell, but, Buds Gun Shop has NEW M1A's for as much as $3,300 and as low as $1,200.  $1,500 is about average for an average M1A.

Correction, I am not in Steve's league. (I think that sounds better. I am not worthy.)

The M1A normally comes either as a standard M1A and goes for upwards of $1800.00. I think the base just had one for oughly $1400.00 The other version is a National Match version. This one has the glass bedded barrel, stainless steel if memory serves. Those goes upwards of $2000.00

So if your dealer has one and it is in fact a National Match edition for $1500.00, that is a good bargin.

Next time you are up this way, we can show you both a standard and national match model M1A.
