With my birthday and anniversary just around the corner, Jo has given me an early present. In the next couple of days, I hope to spend some quality time at the range with my newest addition.

My M1911 A1. I even think some custom grips are in my near future.

So range time is here.

For me it will either be Sunday or Monday, but I could be lucky and do both.

Awesome, Gunny.  I just picked up my Browning 1911A1-22 2 weeks ago.  Last weekend, the wife and I took it out for a test run.  Downloaded about 160 rounds and had a freaking blast.  She is hooked [smile]  It will take a little bit to get used to.  I'm used to a 3 pound handgun, not a 15 ounce pop gun.  [smile]

Oh, the wife learned an important lesson.  V-neck tops always equals shell burned boobies.  [smile]  The range monitor got an eyeful!!! HAHAHAHA

Now that I have started the customization of my M1911, my performance should improve. See here:

What kind of a 22, 22 Long Rifle or a 22 Magnum?

Its a Rock Island Armory M1911 A1 that shoots a 45acp round. Virtually the same weapon we shot in our Top Gun Competition at the reunion.

.22 LR.  Currently firing Federal Automatch 40gr Round Nose ammo.  Not one misfeed/misfire/ejection problem.  I'm having a problem with the sights, so I will be taking it a 'smith when I get back from my travels.

Nice Rock Island!  You could loose the handgrips [tongue]. I want to get their Commander model.

Nice Browning!

I generally go to the range on Tuesday's with my father-in-law.  I generally take 2 out of my 3 handguns, Colt 1991A1 (.45 ACP), S&W Shield (.40 S&W) and S&W SD9 (9mm).
